Foreign hi, I'm Tracey Heatley, and welcome to this episode of Better Marketing, bringing you marketing magic in minutes.
Speaker A:During the next 10 minutes or so, we'll be embarking on a journey into the realms of artificial intelligence, or or AI for short, and its impact on your marketing.
Speaker A:We'll explore what AI really is, how it can benefit your marketing efforts, and why an effective AI marketing strategy is crucial for your success.
Speaker A:Whether you're an AI novice or you're looking to refine your existing strategies, this episode will lay the groundwork for understanding and implementing AI in in your marketing.
Speaker A:Let's decode AI together and discover how to harness its power effectively and importantly, responsibly.
Speaker A:What is AI?
Speaker A:Let's start there, because understanding the basics of AI or artificial intelligence refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and learn like humans.
Speaker A:In marketing, AI can analyze data.
Speaker A:It can predict trends, personalize content, and automate tasks.
Speaker A:The goal is to increase efficiency, enhance personalization, and drive better customer engagement without the need for manual intervention every single step of the way.
Speaker A:The benefits of AI marketing are huge.
Speaker A:It can transform your marketing by offering precision at scale.
Speaker A:It helps in segmenting audiences, targeting them with personalized messages.
Speaker A:It helps optimize campaign timings and so much more.
Speaker A:From chatbots providing 247 customer service to predictive analytics forecasting customer behaviors, AI empowers marketers and business owners like you to deliver more with less.
Speaker A:There's never been a better time for small businesses to embrace AI.
Speaker A:Now let's look at why you need an AI strategy.
Speaker A:Jumping into AI without a clear strategy is like riding a bike without handlebars.
Speaker A:An AI strategy aligns AI technologies with your business goals, ensuring that every AI initiative supports your overall marketing objectives and indeed your overall business objectives.
Speaker A:Without a strategy, efforts can be fragmented, resources wasted, and opportunities missed.
Speaker A:Plus, it's good to have a set of parameters for you and your team to work within so that you've got a guide and you've got boundaries.
Speaker A:When you're developing your AI strategy, there's key considerations that you need to make, so I thought I'd run through a few of them with you.
Speaker A:When I'm working with clients, these are some of the things that we address, albeit we would go into it at greater detail than what I'm able to share on this podcast.
Speaker A:But I'm more than happy to share the few steps that you can take yourself in developing your AI strategy.
Speaker A:It's a good starting point.
Speaker A:So firstly, you need to define your goals what do you want from AI?
Speaker A:What do you want it to achieve for you?
Speaker A:Whether it's improving customer service, increasing sales, or optimizing marketing campaigns, have a clear goal.
Speaker A:This is crucial.
Speaker A:Secondly, understand your data.
Speaker A:AI is only as good as the data it works with.
Speaker A:So ensure that you have access to quality data and understand its limitations.
Speaker A:Next is about choosing the right tools.
Speaker A:There are so many AI tools available now, and it's going to increase all the time.
Speaker A:There's no going back now.
Speaker A:AI is here to stay and I think we need to embrace it.
Speaker A:So choose the right tools.
Speaker A:Not all AI solutions fits all your needs.
Speaker A:So select the tools that integrate well with your existing systems that you can scale and use to grow.
Speaker A:And it might mean that you're using a combination of a couple different types of AI.
Speaker A:It might mean that you're just using one.
Speaker A:Just make sure that you're choosing the right tools.
Speaker A:Then you need to look at skills and training.
Speaker A:Now, whether you're a business owner and there's just you within your business, you're outsourcing, or you have a team in house, you need to ensure that you and your team understand AI and its applications, its limitations, what you can use it for.
Speaker A:And continuous learning and development are fundamental to making the most out of the AI.
Speaker A:Next is a really important thing for me is the ethical and legal implications.
Speaker A:AI brings great power, and with great power comes great responsibility.
Speaker A:It is crucial to consider the ethical and legal implications of AI privacy and security.
Speaker A:For one, how will you ensure that the data used is secure and private and is maintained?
Speaker A:And then there's bias and fairness.
Speaker A:How will you prevent AI from producing biased results?
Speaker A:How will you present it in the data?
Speaker A:Navigating these issues carefully and crucially to maintain trust and integrity in your AI endeavors is really important.
Speaker A:I think over the next few months and years, we're going to hear more and more about this.
Speaker A:The ethics of AI is really important to me and it needs to be really important to you.
Speaker A:You put garbage in, you'll get garbage out.
Speaker A:But you also need to be careful about what you're sharing with AI, because it's learning all the time as well.
Speaker A:Coming back to what I mentioned about the privacy and security.
Speaker A:So really do think about the ethical and legal implications.
Speaker A:In fact, don't just think about it.
Speaker A:Include it in your strategy because it's a big part of it.
Speaker A:So as you're planning on introducing AI into your business, think about these things first, because it's better to plan now than regret it later.
Speaker A:Next, you need to Think about communicating AI internally.
Speaker A:Success with AI isn't just about technology, it's about people too clearly.
Speaker A:Communicating the benefits, the changes and the expected outcomes of your AI initiatives with your team is hugely important.
Speaker A:Education and transparency, communication, they're all vital to get everyone on board and moving in the same direction.
Speaker A:No doubt there will be individuals within your business that may be a little nervous about AI.
Speaker A:If you are thinking about introducing it, they might be worried that what they do within the business becomes redundant.
Speaker A:When some people think about marketing, they think about marketing campaigns.
Speaker A:But actually, internal marketing is a big part of your marketing strategy and it needs to be a big part of your AI marketing strategy for sure.
Speaker A:So how are you going to identify who will be using it?
Speaker A:How are you going to identify what training they need?
Speaker A:How are you going to provide them with guidelines and outlines and what they can and what they can't do?
Speaker A:They need guidelines.
Speaker A:But also importantly, I think you need to include how you're going to provide reassurance to your team how it's going to benefit the business and what they can and can't do with it.
Speaker A:To sum up, AI can significantly enhance your marketing strategy, but it requires careful planning, ethical considerations and a clear communication plan.
